TRANSATLANTIC präsentieren ihr Live-Video zu ‚We All Need Some Light‘ vom „The Final Flight: Live At L’Olympia“ Live-Album, das am 17. Februar erscheint und in Paris beim letzten Auftritt der Tour aufgenommen wurde. Die Prog-Supergroup um Neal Morse, Mike Portnoy, Roine Stolt und Pete Trewavas spielte dort auch ihre aktuelle Studioscheibe „The Absolute Universe“ erstmals live. Das ebenfalls bereits veröffentlichte `Owl Howl` Livevideo gibt´s nochmal hier. Live kann man TRANSATLANTIC am 24. Juli im Kölner E-Werk sehen, momentan der einzige bestätigte Termin in Deutschland 2023.

Roine Stolt erklärt:

“I walked off the stage in Paris and knew it was the end of the tour, also quite possibly of the band. Were we to do this again we’d be really old guys. For me, it felt like the end. There was magic in the air.”

Mike Portnoy ergänzt:

“People felt like they were witnessing the end of something in Paris. It was TRANSATLANTIC’s equivalent of The Beatles up on the roof of their Apple HQ [in 1969]. Playing at the Olympia on a stage which had previous featured The Beatles, Hendrix and Led Zeppelin felt very significant. There was such a lot of love in the room.”

“The Paris gig was the end of a chapter, though whether it turns out the last chapter of the book is something that only time will tell. How do you follow an album that’s two different releases – one of which is a double album? Where on earth could you possibly go from there?”

Pete Trewavas ist der Meinung:

“The Olympia is steeped in history. Playing there was a bit of a bucket list moment for me, especially as it felt like we had probably come to the end of the road [with TRANSATLANTIC] – it was a beautiful end to the tour.”

Und Neal Morse bemerkt abschließend:

“We all say never say never [about doing it again], but if it is the end of TRANSATLANTIC then with the live album we’ve set a very high watermark. At the Paris show each of us wept tears of joy.”
