Hinter dem Namen OCTOPLOID verbirgt sich eine weitere finnische Band , die sich nicht eindeutig einer Kategorie zuordnen lässt. Dass OCTOPLOID auf Initiative von Amorphis Bassist Olli-Pekka Laine zustande kam, könnte ein Hinweis sein, was sich auf dem im Juli anstehenden Debütalbum “Beyond The Aeons” noch verbirgt. Die heute veröffentlichte Mixtur aus rockigem Black und Death Metal mit Folk und Keyboargetriebenen Progparts, zeigt auf jeden Fall schon mal die Richtung. Bei `The Dawns In Nothingness` könnt ihr auch Mikko Kotamäki von Swallow the Sun als Gast hören.
