Die finnische Sängerin Rioghan Darcy gründete das Projekt RIOGHAN 2019 und sieht sich selbst tief in den Gothic- und Progressive-Metal-Szenen verwurzelt.
Das Debütalbum „Different Kinds Of Losses“ wird im Laufe des Jahres 2022 erscheinen. Es ist in Zusammenarbeit mit Jonas Renkse (Katatonia), Einar Solberg (Leprous), Teemu Liekkala (ex-Manufacturer’s Pride, Red Eleven) und Teemu Koskela (ex-Celesty) entstanden.
Die Künstlerin kommentiert `Breath` wie folgt:
„Dieser Song spricht mich auf persönlicher Ebene wirklich an, da ich das ursprüngliche Gedicht an einem ziemlich dunklen Ort schrieb, und irgendwie haben Teemu und ich die Essenz davon auch musikalisch dargestellt, mit viel Polarität, mit ihren Höhen und Tiefen und anschließend auch etwas grausame Schönheit in Akzeptanz gefunden. Wir haben es als erste Single ausgewählt, weil ich denke, dass es den ehemaligen Rioghan ein bisschen mehr repräsentiert als den Rest des Albums, also ist es auch eine Art Übergang zu neuen Schritten, die vor uns liegen.“
