Schlaflos in Los Angeles“ oder ähnlich könnte man den neuen RICHIE KOTZEN Track `Insomnia`, samt dem dazu passendem Video wohl als Film nennen. Das tut aber niemand, zumal  der Song auch auf das am 27. September erscheinende, offenbar sehr abwechslungsreche und dabei nicht immer Metaltaugliche Studioalbum “Nomad“ verweist. Zuvor sind davon schon `On The Table´ und `Cheap Shots` erschienen.

RICHIE KOTZEN:

Ich wurde von dieser Refrain-Melodie geweckt und hatte in diesem Moment noch keine Ahnung, dass der Titel ‘Insomnia’ lauten würde. Obwohl der Song um die Refrain-Melodie herum geschrieben wurde, hängt die eigentliche Endaufnahme stark von der Bassgitarre ab und davon, wie sie behandelt wird. Um den Sound zu erreichen, den man hört, läuft mehr als eine Bassspur gleichzeitig. Es ist interessant, dass ich als Gitarrist bekannt bin, aber die Bassgitarre eine so wichtige Rolle in meiner Musik und bei meinem Songwriting spielt. Vieles von dem, was ich kreiere, entsteht aus den Zeilen, die ich für die Bassgitarre schreibe.”
