„This then would be the opposite of the song „Sunny Side of the Street“. Let me explain… I had a very vivid dream whilst in the midst of recording. I had somehow been mystically flown to The Intrepid Fox (pub) in Wardour street, floating above Soho until, whoosh, I was at the bar standing next to my old comrades Paul Tonka Chapman and Peter Frederick Way. I remember it so well as Tonka asked for a pint of wine with a chaser and our Pete asked for half a pint of sparkling wine and to borrow £20 – and as you know dreams can seem to be very, very real sometimes, so I figured these must be my sweet devil’s angels and I’m on the sunny side of heaven, bravo!! Now we are joined here by the lovely Zoe Devlin Love on vocals and the usual hotel crew kicking up a stink. Tally Ho. Enjoy“

Lyrics:
Life’s low and greasy smells like gasoline
I can’t unsee the things that I’ve seen
Pull up a chair and let’s talk for a while. Some of these
Stories may make you smile
I’ve been itching like a madman who’s been chasing his tail
Singing like a sailor in a ten force gale
But I’m just this sunny side of heaven
I’m on the dark side of the street
I’ve seen the devil’s flying angels
It’s where the dead roads come to meet
It was a good day for Delores
She’s polishing her shoes
Cleaning up her gum shield
And she’s singing funeral blues
Just beyond the black stump and
A Mexican mile, some of these stories
May make you smile
Oh some say living, it’s a dying game
Some say dying’s gonna sharpen your aim
Just this sunny side of heaven
I’m on the dark side of the street
I’m drinking with the devil’s angels
It’s where the dead roads come to meet
She has a secret kind of magic hand
Mad dogs on glory, I know the pleasures
Of the damned
Just this sunny side of heaven
I’m on the dark side of the street
I’ve been drinking with the devil’s angels
It’s where the dead roads come to meet
Meet, meet, meet me there, meet me there
