Bei FIMBUL WINTER haben sich mit den beiden Amon Amath Gründungsmitgliedern Niko Kaukinen (Drums) Anders Biazzi (Gitarre) sowie Gitarrist Fredrik Andersson gleich drei ehemalige Vikings zusammengefunden, die zusammen mit Fronter Clint Williams ihr musikalisches Erbe unter neuem Banner weiterführen. So erinnert berits der Bandname daran, denn immerhin hieß schon das 1994er Demo “The Arrival Of The Fimbul Winter“. Trotz der Ähnlichkeit sind FIMBUL WINTER keine Kopie, was sie mit dem neuen Track `Crowned In Ash` beweisen wollen.
Zur neuen Single schreibt die Band:
“ Crowned In Ash is about enduring pain and suffering that nearly destroys you and emerging from it stronger than before. Once you reach the other side, you realize the victory you were chasing was never what you expected. The “crown” turned out to be made of ash, and the true price was simply surviving the journey itself. „
