“I wrote this song many, many years ago and have played it for myself from time to time. I actually like to let the listener form their own opinion of all the songs Caregah releases, but if you want to know my insight into the song, it’s about longing for something/someone and loneliness but when you’re among other people. There are many perspectives here…so I’ll let everyone decide for themselves what Tombstone is for them.”

Lyrics:
my heart rate’s low, I feel the cold, nothing more
nothing to do, nothing to say now
like a tombstone you’re standing there, but no one sees
the world you live in, isn’t true, it’s never been
look at her, look at me
the shadows is the only thing we see now
your sign of loneliness, written for what you were
the world you live in, never was, never been
in the heart there’s a fire going on
emptiness has drained it, for oh so long
my faith has made me this song
they dug a hole, and I’ve been gone for far too long
in this world, in this life, nothing more
look at the sun, see the skies
like a tombstone, you melting in but nowhere to hide
the world you live in, isn’t true, it’s never been
wanna see what lies beneath the stars
hold me tight, together we will fall
in the heart there’s a fire going on
emptiness has drained it, for oh so long
my faith has made me this song
they dug a hole, and I’ve been gone for far too long
in the heart there’s a fire going on
emptiness has drained it, for oh so long
my faith has made me this song
they dug a hole, and I’ve been gone for far too long
