Das US Melodic Tech Death Outfit präsentiert die erste Auskopplung `Driftwood´ aus ihrem kommenden Album. Die neue ALLEGAEON Scheibe trägt den Titel „The Ossuary Lens“ und kommt am 04. April.
Gitarrist Greg Burgess erklärt:
“This song holds a special place in ALLEGAEON history, honestly. This piece was written for „Apoptosis“ by our then-brand new bassist Booboo. In its original form, it was so tech death, I don’t think we knew how to incorporate it into the ALLEGAEON sound when he submitted it. Fast forward six years and, as we were kicking around ideas for this album, I remembered the piece, and asked Booboo if he wouldn’t mind if I took a crack at possibly rearranging its format a little smoother into the ALLEGAEON sound. I just wanted there to be a little bit more repetition of some parts. The song turned out amazing. Always goes to show – never throw out anything as you never know when it’ll come back.”

Lyrics:
Blindsided, in a shell of silence, alone
Decided, motive breach the eyelids, then sewn
Reminded, death walks beside us, inside us
In hindsight it was the path of a nihilist and pawn
When the tide swallows the trees
The gallows of your past will haunt you
White lines and broken teeth
The shadows of your past will take you
Divided, the scarlet moon feeding
Blood forced fed, drowning in loathe, grieving
Rivers run rapid with wine and lust, again we see the dawn
Igniting bridges that fall to dust (you’re gone)
When the tide swallows the trees
The gallows of your past will haunt you
White lines and broken teeth
The shadows of your past (will take you)
When the tide swallows the trees
The gallows of your past will haunt you
Would you lend me your soul, your soul to feast? And I…
will never know, we’ll never know
Bones and driftwood, hearts, decay
Alone in the bloodscape, betrayed, afraid
Cycles of agony, wretched, decline
Tear at the rotting flesh, carcass of mine
Solo: Burgess
Chest wide open
Tunnel vision
Rats to ashes
Soul perdition
When the tide swallows the trees
The gallows of your past will haunt you
White lines and broken teeth
The Shadows of your past will take you
When the tide swallows the trees
The gallows of your past will haunt you
Would you lend me your soul, your soul to feast? And I…
will never know, we’ll never know
