Mit mit rauen Growls aber dunkel, melodisch, eingängig, und nur noch mit Resten von Doom, zeigt sich die neue Single von MARIANAS REST. Damit kündigt die finnische Truppe ihr inzwischen fünftes Studioalbum, namens „The Bereaved“ an, das am 16. Januar 2026 in die Läden kommen wird. Als Gastmusiker und Co-Sänger haben sie sich Horizon Ignited Vokalist Okko Solanterä für `Diamonds in the Rough` eingeladen.
Frobntmann Jaakko Mäntymaa erzählt zu dem Song:
„I have always had an issue with how we tend to remember those passed. You know, concentrating excessively on the good sides of a person and downplaying imperfections, the whole ‚don’t speak ill of the dead‘ thing. What could honor a person more than seeing and remembering him as a whole, flaws and all? This song celebrates memories that stick to what really happened.“
